What is Text to Speech?
Text to Speech (TTS) converts written text into spoken words using your browser's built-in voices. This tool splits your text into sentences and reads them one by one. You can choose a voice, adjust speed, pause and resume, or click any sentence to hear it.

Why are the voices different on my phone?
The tool uses the voices installed with your device and browser, so the list and the quality differ between Windows, macOS, Android and iOS.
Can I download the audio as MP3?
No. Browsers let websites play their built-in voices but not record them, so the tool can only read the text aloud.
Is my text sent anywhere?
Not to our servers. Some browsers offer online voices (for example the "Google" voices in Chrome) that are processed by the browser maker's service, so choose a voice that is installed on your device if that matters to you.
